Anemone Quintet

The Anemone Quintet was formed in 2011 after Frederic Blondy's initiative and they have played in Switcherland and Finland. Their music is intense and energetic with a great richness of material due to the different cultural backgrounds of the musicians.

Frederic Blondy is a pianist with a jazz background and has developed a body-based approach to the instrument. As an improvisor, he has collaborated with musician such as Rhodri Davies, John Tilbury, Otomo Yoshihide.

Drummer Paul Lovens has a long and important history in the improvising scene. With a great background on different types of jazz music, his playing style is characterised by intensity and focus.

Peter Evans is a trumpet player, well- known for his technical skill and control on the instrument. He draws influences from jazz, avant-garde and electroacoustic music.

Clayton Thomas is a double bass player with a very active presence in the free improvising scene. He is involved in numerous current projects that include among others Tony Buck, Christof Kurzmann, Axel Dorner, Magda Mayas.
